We will be coordinating with our Service Provider over the next few months if we can tentatively schedule quarterly training for our citizens to attend and learn basic first aid and how to perform CPR. Please visit our website often to see when this training gets scheduled.


Important Facts

Smoke alarms are the most effective early warning devices for fires. Having the appropriate number and properly working smoke alarms in your home reduces the chances of fire-related deaths significantly. This program provides needed safety prevention service and educates residents who may be more vulnerable in a home fire.

Your local Fire Department, Bexar County Emergency Services District No. 11, has a program for free smoke detectors (battery operated only) and installation. The smoke detector program is available for District 11 county residents who:

  • Reside in a Single-family or two-family residence

Exclusionary examples include businesses, contractors and rental properties.

The department also will install replacement batteries in existing smoke detectors and do a fire inspection at no charge. If you, or you know of a fellow resident in need of a smoke alarm or smoke alarm test, please contact us at administration@esd11.org or call 210.467.5878.
